Load regulator

B - location and connection

In vehicles not equipped with ABS (or ABS/EDS), the rear axle brakes are operated by a device called a load regulator. The load regulator is fixed to the body and forms the flow of brake fluid and its pressure when the lever, connected by a spring to the rear axle, is deflected. The regulator cannot be repaired and, if a fault is detected, must be replaced entirely, of course with the same brand and type. A special device is required for its initial adjustment.

Examination

1. The operation of the load regulator can be roughly checked as follows: press the pedal hard with your foot and when you quickly release it, the regulator lever should move.

2. During the inspection, the vehicle must stand on its wheels.

3. During a qualified check of the load regulator, the pressure before and after it is measured.
