The concentration of the coolant should be (also all year round) such that the mixture does not freeze at temperatures down to -25°C. Therefore, the proportion of liquid with a low freezing point should be no less than 40% and no more than 60% of the total volume (2:3 mixture).
Caution! High concentration reduces the cooling effect and also reduces the resistance to freezing.
A lower concentration, on the other hand, reduces corrosion resistance. At a stable temperature of 20°C, the liquid level in the reserve tank should be between the MIN and MAX marks.
All liquids with a low freezing point that comply with VW TL 774/D or C standard can be mixed.
You can replace the coolant yourself or have it replaced by a service center. The coolant must be drained from the cooling system after it has cooled to the ambient temperature.
It should be emphasized that the cooling mixture loses its properties when in contact with fats, as well as zinc (when preparing the mixture, do not use galvanized cookware).
When draining the fluid, use a container large enough to ensure that all of it has drained from the cooling system.
Painted surfaces of the body that are soiled with coolant must be rinsed immediately with water. If the liquid gets on the skin, it must be washed off immediately with soap and water. Eyes must be especially protected. All MEG-based liquids with a low solidification temperature must be treated as poisons. Then follow the manufacturer's instructions, which are always given on the container with the purchased liquid.
