1. The oil level is checked on a horizontally parked vehicle on its wheels (not downhill), at least five minutes after the engine has been turned off. If the level is checked immediately after the vehicle has been driven, some oil will remain around the transmission components and the measurement will be inaccurate.

2. The level is checked by the speedometer drive gear. The speedometer drive is located on the gearbox housing.

3. Wipe the area around the speedometer drive, then unscrew the bolt and remove the mounting bracket. Remove the drive from the gearbox housing, and note the oil level on the drive; it should be at a distance of 4-11 mm from the base of the drive gear (photo).
