Remove the poly V-belt. Using the "T10355" stop, turn the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley to the "TDC cylinder 1" "arrow" position. The notch on the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley should be located opposite the arrow mark on the lower timing chain casing. Unscrew the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley mounting bolt, using the "T10355" stop for this.

Caution! Risk of engine damage. Do not turn the crankshaft from the TDC position with the pulley removed, as this may change the valve timing.

Remove the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley. If the poly V-belt pulley is not to be installed immediately, screw the pulley mounting bolt back in together with the "T10368" mandrel.

Note: This step is important because otherwise the crankshaft sprocket may become warped and the entire timing chain drive will have to be readjusted.

Installation in reverse order.



Note: Replace the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley fastening screw. The sealing ring "1" is supplied with the screw, moisten with engine oil before installation.


Remove any remaining oil from the crankshaft journal using a clean rag. Install the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley, taking into account the toothed contour "arrow", and tighten the bolt.
