Attention.
- Persons under supervision, such as apprentices or trainees may only work on car batteries under the supervision of professional personnel, such as mechanic / foreman or electrician / foreman.
- The acid is concentrated. There is a danger that in case of unprofessional handling of batteries, personnel are exposed to the harmful effects of the electrolyte. Therefore, you should have at the ready suitable means that protect against acid burns. A suitable tool is eg. soap lye.
- If battery electrolyte leaks, skin burns, acid attack, and vehicle corrosion may occur. This can, depending on the circumstances, damage parts of the vehicle that are important to safety.
- The explosive gas resulting from the charge and partly at rest after the gas is removed after recharging is explosive. In extreme cases, the battery may explode due to escaping gases in the event of unprofessional handling.
- Batteries with a colorless or light yellow eye should be replaced. Cannot be controlled or charged and cannot be started using a battery from another vehicle. If the engine is monitored, charged or started with a battery from another vehicle, there is a risk of explosion.
- It is forbidden to create sparks by grinding, welding, detachable work and use open flames, e.g. smoke near the battery. It is also necessary to prevent sparking by electrostatic discharge. Therefore, before touching the battery, it is absolutely necessary to touch the car body first.
- Batteries should only be handled in well ventilated and suitable areas for this activity.
