By car with a spare tire
- Lay the removed wheel in the niche of the luggage compartment and secure it with the wing nut.
- If possible, check the tightness of the wheel bolts with a torque wrench as soon as possible.
- Repair or replace the defective wheel as soon as possible.
On a car with a tire repair kit
- Place the tire repair kit in the luggage compartment.
- If the failed tire was sealed with a tire repair kit, check the pressure in that tire after ten minutes of driving.
- A tire sealed in this way can no longer be used and must be replaced.
Note
- If possible, check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts with a torque wrench in a workshop as soon as possible: it should be 120 Nm for steel and light alloy wheels.
- If, when replacing a wheel, it was found that the wheel bolts were corroded and are hard to unscrew and screw in, they should be replaced before checking the tightening torque, and the threaded holes of the hub should also be cleaned.
- On vehicles with a tire pressure warning light (option) After changing a wheel, the system needs to be initialized.
