Note. The hinge must be disassembled when replacing the filled grease, in case of significant contamination, or when checking the treadmills of the support balls for wear and damage.
1. Before proceeding with disassembly, it is necessary to mark the position of the hub in relation to the cage of balls and the hinge housing -arrow- using an electric needle or a bar.
2. Tilt the hub and ball cage.
3. Gradually remove the balls.
4. Turn the clip so that the two windows of the clip -arrow- are in contact with the hinge housing.
5. Remove the clip together with the hub.
6. Tilt the hub segment into the window in the cage.
7. Having overturned a nave, to take it outside from a holder.
8. All 6 balls of each joint are in the same tolerance category. Check wheel trunnion, hub, cage and balls for small indentations (formed as a result of pitting - pitting corrosion) and traces of seizures. Too much play around the perimeter of the hinge can be observed with a variable load of the latter. In such cases, the hinge must be replaced. Flattening and ball rolling marks do not necessitate joint replacement.
9. Fill with half the amount of grease (40 g) into the crankcase.
10. Insert the cage with the hub into the crankcase.
11. Gradually press inward always opposite balls, and it is necessary to maintain the original relative position of the hub, ball cage and hinge housing.
12. To establish in a nave a new lock ring.
13. Distribute the remaining amount of grease into the seal.
