2. Remove the screws (see resist. illustration) and remove the pad behind the pedals.

3. Remove the bolt (1 per resist. illustrations) and disconnect the hinge (2) from the steering gear.

4. Remove the sound insulation under the engine compartment (see chapter 11).
5. Disconnect from the anti-roll bar of its rack.
6. Give nuts (see illustration 4.5 of Chapter 8).
7. Loosen the tie rod end nut on the steering knuckle, leaving it screwed in a few turns. Then press the tie-rod end pivot out of the steering knuckle with tool #3287A (see resist. illustration), finally loosen the nut and separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.

8. Fix the position of the subframe with consoles (see Section 3).
9. Turn out bolts (11 and 16 in illustration 3.11) securing the anti-roll bar to the subframe, remove the bolts (14) and remove the oscillating bearing from the transmission.
10. Support the subframe with a transmission jack VAG1383A, placing a wooden block between them (1 in illustration 3.12).
12. Turn out bolts (1 per resist. illustrations) exhaust holder. Loosen the bolts (2) and lower the subframe a little, keeping an eye on the wiring.

13. Raise the stabilizer (1 per resist. illustrations) forward via console (2) and remove from the subframe.

14. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation, apply the basic settings for the front suspension height sensor (using a diagnostic tool see chapter 5) and do a road test (see chapter 1), during which check the position of the steering wheel. In conclusion, adjust the angles of the front wheels (see Part D).
