Note.
- The ABS system belongs to the vehicle's safety systems; work on them requires detailed professional knowledge of the system. Inspection and replacement or repair work may only be carried out by a specially trained technician «ABS» personnel.
- Malfunctions are signaled by the ignition of the ABS warning light, the red brake warning light and the warning light «ESP». Some of the faults can only be detected after exceeding the minimum speed of 20 km/h (carry out a test run).
- If the ABS warning light and the brake system warning light are off, and the brakes are still not fully working, then you need to look for a fault in the standard brake system.
Attention.
- Before starting work on ABS devices, the fault memory must be read out in order to determine the presence of faults and to carry out their targeted detection.
- Disconnect the plug connectors only when the ignition is switched off.
- Before starting work on ABS devices, you need to turn off the ignition and disconnect the wire connecting the battery terminal to «weight» (corps) car.
- After disconnecting and then attaching the wire connecting the battery terminal to «weight» (corps) vehicle, some additional work needs to be done.
- Welding work carried out using an electric welding machine may affect the operation of the ABS devices.
- Before starting welding work using an electric welding machine, you must:
- After disconnecting the terminal from the negative terminal of the battery, close the negative terminal - cover the negative terminal of the battery.
- Connect the wire of the electric welding machine to short to «mass» (frame) directly to the workpiece to be welded. It is impossible that between the wire to short to «mass» and the welded part were any electrically insulated parts.
- It is impossible that the welding electrode and the wire of the welding machine for a short circuit to «mass» (frame) come into contact with electrical wires or control units.
- When performing painting work, it is possible to load the electronic control unit for a short time with a maximum of 95°C and for a long time (approx. 2 hours) maximum 85°C.
- The vehicle must not be driven with the control unit disconnected.
- When carrying out work on the anti-blocking device, it is necessary to maintain perfect cleanliness and in no case should you use products containing mineral oils, such as e.g. oils, greases, etc.
- Before disconnecting the joints, they themselves and the areas around them must be thoroughly cleaned. However, you must not use any aggressive cleaning agents, such as e.g. brake cleaner, gasoline, thinners, etc.
- Removed parts should be placed on a clean base and covered.
- If the repair cannot be completed immediately, then the opened structural elements must be carefully covered or closed (use for this purpose the locking plugs from the repair kit).
- Do not use shedding rags.
- Remove spare parts from the packaging only immediately before installing them.
- Only use spare parts packed in the original packaging.
- If the device is open, do not handle compressed air and do not move the vehicle forward and backward.
- Make sure that no brake fluid gets into the plug connectors.
- When handling brake fluid, the applicable laws and regulations must be observed.
- After carrying out work that requires opening the brake system, it is necessary to bleed the air from the brake system using a device for filling the hydraulic brake drive and for removing air from it (ROMESS S15).
- During the subsequent test run, it must be ensured that controlled braking occurs at least once (you should feel the brake pedal pulsing).
