Note. This information applies only to Skoda original equipment models.
Some models come standard with an anti-theft/engine immobilization system. On other models, the system can be installed additionally.
Anti-theft alarm
Activation and deactivation of the anti-theft alarm is done using the remote control (DU). On models equipped with a single lock, the operation of door activators is controlled from the same remote control. When the doors are locked with a single lock, the alarm emits a short double beep, accompanied by the simultaneous flashing of all four direction indicators. The system is activated approximately 25 seconds after it is turned on.
Note. When the system is turned on with the door/bonnet open, a short beep sounds eight times.
Sensors-switches of the anti-theft alarm system are installed on the hood cover, all four saloon doors and the tailgate of the car. In addition, ultrasonic sensors are provided that respond to movement inside the cabin. When any of the sensors-switches are triggered, an audible and light alarm is activated, the continuous operation of which continues for 30 seconds. At the end of the control time, the system automatically turns off and returns to its original state.
At the request of the car owner, ultrasonic scanning of the passenger compartment can be disabled. To do this, turn on the system in the usual way, then, after a short time, press the control button again. Disabling the ultrasonic sensors is accompanied by the operation of direction indicators and several beeps of the anti-theft siren.
The anti-theft alarm system is equipped with a master siren switch located at the rear of the engine compartment. To turn off the system, open the protective cover and turn the switch with a special key supplied with other car keys. After removing the key, replace the protective cover of the switch. To put the system into operation, simply turn the switch to its original position - the system will immediately work and must be turned off using the remote control.
In the event of a failure of the alarm system, it must be turned off by the main switch and drive the car for repair to a car service workshop.
Engine Immobilizer
The engine immobilization system does not allow unauthorized starting of the car without the ignition key. Inside the ignition key included in the vehicle package, a microcircuit with an electronic code embedded in it is mounted. When the key is turned in the ignition lock, a special immobilizer sensor reads the code and compares it with the control record and, in case of a discrepancy, does not allow the engine to be started.
The code embedded in the system is stamped on a special label supplied with the keys. Keep this label in a safe place outside the vehicle. If the key is lost, a replacement key can be ordered from the Skoda authorized service center based on the data printed on the label. In the absence of a label, the only way out is to completely replace the immobilizer.
