Checking the fuel level in the float chamber (Skoda Felicia)

1. One of the reasons for the disruption of engine speed stability may be the incorrect setting of the fuel level in the carburetor float chamber.

2. Remove the air cleaner (see section Air Cleaner Assembly Maintenance).

3. Remove the screws (cross-head)fastening the carburetor cover to its body.



4. Make sure that the fuel level in the float chamber is 8.5÷10.5 mm below the mating surface of the carburetor body.



5. If the level differs from the specified value, turn the carburetor cover so that it takes the position shown in the illustration and measure the distance between the bottom of the float and the plane of the cover (the nominal value is 28÷30 mm).

Note: During measurement, the needle valve ball should not be pressed by the float arm.

6. There is no provision for adjusting the float position and any changes to it can only be associated with a breach in the tightness of the assembly.

7. When installing the carburetor cover onto the body, do not forget to replace the sealing gasket.
