During adjustment, the following conditions must be met:
  • a) The engine must be in good working order;
  • b) The engine oil should have been changed recently;
  • c) The engine must be warmed up to approximately 70°C (the pointer arrow is in the middle of the scale);
  • d) The ignition timing angle should be 0°÷2°;
  • e) There must be no leaks in the carburetor's seal on the intake manifold and the manifold on the cylinder head;
  • f) Spark plugs must be tightened to the required torque;
  • g) A new air cleaner filter element must be installed (except for the first warranty inspection);
  • h) There should be no kinks in the cable or other faults in the throttle drive system;
  • i) All consumers of electricity (except for the ignition system) should be turned off;
  • j) The ventilation hose connecting the cylinder head to the air cleaner must be pinched;
  • k) The air-fuel mixture enrichment system must be switched off - the screw (3) must not rest against the stepped pulley;
  • l) The air cleaner thermostat must be in good working order.

The check is carried out using a tachometer. If the result of measuring the crankshaft speed is outside the permissible range (see Specifications), it is necessary to make the appropriate adjustment by turning the adjusting screw (1).
