Removal
1. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) shown in the figure below.
2. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the air conditioning compressor (arrows) from the mounting bracket without disconnecting the refrigerant line pipes from it.
3. Place an assembly tray under the engine compartment.
4. Remove the cooling system fan shroud (for more details, see the corresponding section in the chapter "Cooling system").
5. Open the fastening clamp (1), shown in the figure below, and then move the hose (arrow) to the side.
6. Loosen the mounting clamps (1) and disconnect the water hoses shown in the figure below.
7. Loosen the mounting screws (arrows) and remove the intercooler shown in the figure below.
8. First pull the intercooler (1) towards you, then forward in the direction of the arrow to disconnect and remove the cooler from the intake manifold, as shown in the figure below.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
- Install the sealing tape (1) in the direction of the arrow onto the charge air cooler module (2) as shown in the figure below.
- Install a new gasket into the recess on the intake manifold.
- Install and tighten the mounting screws (arrows) shown in the figure below, starting from the center and working crosswise toward the outer screws.
- Install and tighten the water hose clamps (1) as shown in the figure below.
- Install the cooling fan shroud (for more details, see the relevant section in the Cooling System chapter).
- Check the coolant level.
