Removal
1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect all electrical consumers in the vehicle. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
2. Remove the upper decorative engine cover.
3. Remove the screws (arrows) securing the coolant line pipe to the intake manifold assembly, as shown in the figure below.
4. Remove the air filter housing assembly (for more details, see the relevant section in this chapter).
5. Unscrew the fastening screws on the right and left sides (arrow), as shown in the figure below.
6. Unlock and remove the lower part of the air intake (1), as shown in the figure below.
7. Remove the soundproofing covering from the engine compartment.
8. Release the water hose (3) shown in the figure below from the clamps.
9. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the boost air pressure sensor as shown in the figure below.
10. Unscrew the mounting bolts (arrows) shown in the figure below.
11. Loosen the fastening clamp (2) and disconnect the air duct pipe from the throttle module assembly as shown in the figure below by pulling it downwards.
12. Carefully loosen the connecting nuts (3) and unscrew the fastening screws (1), as shown in the figure below.
13. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors:
- 1) From the intake manifold flap potentiometer.
- 2) From the low fuel pressure sensor.
- 3) From the central connector of the fuel injectors.
- 4) From the intake manifold pressure sensor.
- 5) From the Hall sensor.
- 6) From the throttle module.
14. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors (1), (2) and (3) under the intake manifold.
15. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the intake manifold flap valve.
16. Disconnect the vacuum hose (2).
17. Release the clamps (arrows) and pull the wiring harness channel upwards.
18. Unscrew the mounting bolts (2) and (3), then very carefully remove the cooling system line in an upward direction.
19. Place the fuel hose (1) away from the intake manifold.
20. Loosen the fastening clamp (2) and disconnect the water hose.
21. Unscrew the fastener (arrow) of the high-pressure line.
22. While holding the connection (A) from turning, unscrew the fastening nut (arrow) shown in the figure below.
23. Loosen the union nut on the fuel rail using a suitable bit, then remove the high-pressure lines.
24. Loosen the intake manifold mounting nuts (A), then unscrew the mounting bolts (arrows) using a Torx T30 socket.
25. Carefully remove the intake manifold assembly from the cylinder head by unscrewing the mounting bolts (arrows) of the mounting bracket (A).
26. Completely remove the intake manifold from the cylinder head.
Installation
1. Connect and secure the wiring harness connector holder in place.
2. Next, installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
