Checking the piston ring gap
Insert the ring from the top into the cylinder and then slide it to the bottom of the cylinder so that it is positioned approximately 15 mm from the bottom edge of the cylinder (the sides of the ring must be perpendicular to the walls of the cylinder). For installation use a piston without rings.

| Piston ring dimensions in mm | Nov. | Wear limit value |
| First compression ring | 0,30... 0,40 | 0,8 |
| Second compression ring | 0,40... 0,50 | 0,8 |
| Oil scraper ring | 0,20... 0,40 | 0,8 |
Checking the height clearance between the groove and the ring
Clean piston grooves before checking.

| Piston ring dimensions in mm | Nov. | Wear limit value |
| 1st compression ring | 0,06...0,09 | 0,20 |
| 2nd compression ring | 0,03...0,06 | 0,15 |
| Oil scraper rings | not measured | |
Checking the pistons
Note:
- Necessary tools, measuring instruments and auxiliary equipment micrometer 75 - 100 mm "VAS 6071".
- Measure at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder, approximately 10 mm above the lower edge of the piston skirt.
Note: Deviations from nominal dimensions: no more than 0.04 mm.

Mounting position of the liners
Install the insert into the connecting rod and into the connecting rod cap exactly in the middle.
The size "a" must be the same on both sides.

Piston and cylinder dimensions
Mechanical processing of cylinders (drilling, honing, grinding) using service shop equipment is prohibited. Mechanical processing damages the cylinder walls.
