Air channel assembly and its installation on the front transverse wall (vehicles with engines 1.8–92 kW; 1.9 TD1-66 kW)
Air filter and tube connecting the air duct to the filter (motors 1.8–92 kW; 1.9 TD1-66 kW)
In these vehicles, the cold air drawn in is vented above the radiator. From there, the air passes through the air plastic channel. A plastic suction tube is installed on it, which is mounted with elastic rubber fingers both on the air channel and on the other side of the air filter housing. The air filter housing is made of plastic and consists of two parts. The lower part sits with a single pin with a stretched rubber shell in a hole in the left wheel fender.
The next mount to the battery bracket and the third to the casing of the front elastic assembly (bolts M 6). The bottom part contains a rectangular filter insert made of folded filter paper. Active filtering surface 15300 sq. cm. Liner replacement interval during normal operation 60,000 km; when operating in a dusty environment, the interval is reduced accordingly. However, in both cases, the insert must be replaced after two years, even if the prescribed mileage has not been reached.
Upper part: the plastic cover on one side is snapped into the slot in the side of the lower part of the filter with a tongue and fastened with two screws on the reverse side (slot for Phillips screwdriver). The top parts differ in dimensions in the flanges for the air flow meter. From the top cover there is an elastic hose to the neck of the throttle body. The hose enters with its protrusions into the grooves of both parts and is fixed with steel elastic brackets.
