Air Filter - Mounting Reamer (1.6-55 kW Engine)

1 – filter cover; 2 – filter insert; 3 – filter housing; 4 – seal; 5 – air bleed hose from the crankcase; 6 – warm air suction; 7 – suction neck with adjustment chamber

In this design of the intake tract and air filter, cold air is taken by a plastic pipe in the engine compartment. Behind the pipe there is a control chamber in which the incoming air is mixed with warm air, heated in the space between the exhaust manifold and the casing above it. And this air, heated above the exhaust, is mixed before entering the hose with the surrounding, cooler air. The neck of the casing above the exhaust pipe has two opposite holes through which air is sucked in for mixing. The holes must not be covered by the hose connecting the neck to the control chamber. This hose is elastic, made of a combination of silicone (silicone) rubber, non-flammable textiles and reinforced with steel wire, which is spirally wrapped around the hose. The hose is placed on the adjustment chamber and secured with a screw clamp.

An oval plastic air filter made of two parts is installed on the adjustment chamber. A ring filter insert made of folded filter paper is inserted into the lower part of its body.

The insert has a regular plastic head for sealing in the filter housing.

Active filtration surface 7300 sq.cm. Replacement interval is set for normal operation at 60000 km. When operating in a dusty environment, the interval should be reduced proportionally. However, in both cases, it is necessary to replace the insert after two years, even if the car has not driven the set number of kilometers.

The lid is screwed to the bottom with four screws (with Phillips-head screwdriver slots). The entire filter assembly is then placed on the throttle body neck in the presence of a rubber seal and screwed to the intake module with four more screws.

At the bottom of the air filter there is a fitting for attaching a rubber deaeration hose that connects the air filter to the oil separator.
