1. Start the engine and let it idle until the radiator fan turns on.
2. Increase the engine speed to about 2500 rpm–1 and maintain it for 2 min. If at this time the knock of valves is heard, it means that one or more hydraulic pushers are faulty.
3. Remove the block head cover and turn the crankshaft so that the valves of the fourth cylinder are open.
4. Check for gaps between the rocker arms and valves of the first cylinder. The presence of gaps indicates a malfunction of the hydraulic pushers, so they need to be replaced.
5. If there are no gaps, lightly press with a wooden or plastic wedge 5 (see subsection 2.12.5) on the adjusting screws 2. If you feel that the hydraulic pusher is compressed, it means that it is faulty and needs to be replaced. In the same way, check the rest of the hydraulic pushers by turning the engine crankshaft in accordance with the table. The position of the crankshaft when adjusting the initial position of the hydraulic pushers.
Attention! After installing new hydraulic pushers, the engine can be started no earlier than 30 minutes, otherwise the pistons may hit the valves.
