
Follow the installation instructions. After replacing the brake pads, press the brake pedal firmly several times with the vehicle stationary until the brake pads are in their operating position. Use a brake fluid filling and bleeding device, such as "VAS 5234", to pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir. Before removing the brake caliper or before disconnecting the brake pipe from the brake caliper, insert a device for pressing the brake pedal, such as, "V.A.G 1869/2".
1. Bolt, 8 Nm
2. Brake disc: if worn, replace on both wheels of the axle; to remove, first unscrew the brake caliper screws
3. Bolt, 200 Nm + 180°: replace after each removal
4. Wheel hub with wheel hub bearing
5. Bolt, 12 Nm
6. Protective shield
7. Wheel hub bearing housing
8. ABS speed sensor
9. Bolt, 8 Nm
10. Bolt, 90 Nm + 90°: replace after each removal
11. Bolt, self-locking, 35 Nm: replace after each removal
12. Handbrake cable
13. Brake Caliper: When replacing brake pads, do not disconnect the brake line. After repair or replacement, the parking brake must be adjusted. Follow the instructions for replacing pads
14. Brake shield with guide pins and protective caps
15. Brake pads: Replace on both wheels of the axle. Follow the instructions for replacing the pads
16. Brake pipe
17. Dust cap: Replace after each removal
