Remove heat shield -4-. Remove screw -2- (22 Nm) and remove the battery holder -1-. Slide the battery out of the bracket and remove it upwards.
Installation
Installation in reverse order. Insert the battery into the bracket -1- so that the projecting part of the bottom of the battery at the rear and sides -arrows- rests up to the stop on the flange of the bracket.
The protrusion -arrow- of the retaining clip -1- must engage in the recess in the protruding part of the bottom of the battery. Tighten fastening nut -2- (15 Nm). With the ignition switched off and the current consumers switched off, first connect the positive terminal -3- and tighten the nut -4- (6 Nm). Observe the procedure for connecting the negative terminal and the safety measures after reconnecting the battery.
Carefully! The following hazards arise if the battery is installed incorrectly or if the battery is not properly tightened. Reduced service life due to shock damage (explosion hazard). Damage to the grid plates of the battery. Damage to the battery case by the fastening bracket (possible leakage of acid, high subsequent costs). Insufficient safety in a collision.
