Timeout assistant (fatigue recognition system) (Skoda Octavia 5E)

The fatigue detection system recommends the driver to take a break based on the driver's driving behaviour. The system signals the need for a break at speeds of 65–200 km/h. After the ignition is switched on, the system evaluates the driver's driving behaviour for 15 minutes. This basic assessment is then continuously compared with the current driving behaviour. If the system detects deviations from the normal driving behaviour due to possible driver fatigue, it recommends a break. The system deletes the stored basic assessment of the driver's driving behaviour if one of the following conditions is met: the vehicle is stopped, the ignition is switched off, the vehicle is stopped, the seat belt is unbuckled, the driver's door is opened, the stop lasts longer than 15 minutes. If none of these conditions are met or the driving behaviour has not changed, the system recommends a break again after 15 minutes. This function can be activated or deactivated in the Infotainment system.

Display instructions

The symbol appears on the instrument cluster display for a few seconds and the next message.

"M" Fatigue detected. Take a break. "S" FATIGUE DETECTED. TAKE A BREAK.

Additionally, a warning sound is heard.
