Description and general instructions

Heating efficiency depends on the coolant temperature. The heating starts working at full power only when the engine is warm. When the air conditioner is running, the temperature and humidity in the car interior decrease. In hot and humid weather, this makes staying in the car more comfortable. In cold weather this prevents the windows from fogging up.

To speed up cooling, you can briefly turn on the air recirculation mode.

Please observe the instructions regarding recirculation mode if you have an air conditioning system or Climatronic.

For the heater and air conditioner to function properly, the air intake in front of the windshield must not be blocked by ice, snow or fallen leaves.

When the air conditioner is running, condensation may drip from the air conditioning unit's evaporator, forming a puddle under the vehicle. This is a normal phenomenon and does not indicate a leak in any system.

Attention:

• To ensure safety on the road, it is important that the car windows are not covered with snow or ice and do not fog up. It is necessary to know the rules for controlling heating, ventilation, clearing frozen or fogged glass, and air conditioning.
• The air recirculation mode should not be left on for long periods of time, as stale air increases driver and passenger fatigue and reduces the ability to concentrate, and under certain conditions can also cause fogging of the windows. The risk of an accident increases. Turn off the recirculation mode if the windows begin to fog up.

Note: Air is exhausted through the exhaust vents in the walls of the luggage compartment. It is not recommended to smoke in the car when the recirculation mode is turned on, as smoke from the car interior settles on the air conditioner evaporator. This leads to the appearance of a persistent odor when the air conditioning system is operating. This problem can only be resolved through complex and expensive work (evaporator replacement). For proper operation of the heater and air conditioning system, the deflectors must not be covered by foreign objects.

Temperature regulation

• If you want to increase the temperature, turn the control knob (A) to the right.
• If you want to lower the temperature, turn the setting knob (A) to the left.

Ventilation regulation

• If you want to turn on the fan, turn the switch (B) to one of the positions (1-6).
• If you want to turn off the fan, turn the switch (B) to the "O" position.

Air distribution regulation

• The air supply to individual blower nozzles is adjusted using the handle (C).

Note:

• To ensure the heating and ventilation system operates properly, the exterior air intake hatch located in front of the windshield must be kept free of ice, snow or leaves.
• The heating capacity depends on the coolant temperature. This means that full thermal performance can only be achieved after the engine has warmed up.
• To prevent the windows from fogging up, keep the fan on all the time.

Caution: Never use the recirculated air mode for long periods of time, as without a fresh air supply from outside, the "used" air can cause fatigue, distraction, and fog up the windows. As a result, the risk of an accident may increase. As soon as the windows start to fog up, immediately turn off the air recirculation mode.

Note: When the air flow to the windows setting is selected, full heating capacity is used to defrost the windshield. In this case, air is not supplied to the floor area. This may result in reduced heating efficiency. Ventilation of the interior space of the car is provided through openings located in the rear section of the trunk.

Defrosting the windshield and side windows

• Turn the adjustment knob (A) all the way to the right.
• Fan switch (B) - to position 4-5.
• Set the air flow distribution adjustment knob (C) to position .
• Open the air inlet nozzles (4) and adjust the direction of air flow to the side window.

To prevent the windshield and side windows from fogging up

• If there is high relative humidity (for example, in rainy weather) if the windows fog up, we recommend that you perform the adjustments described below.
• Use the control knob (A) to set the temperature.
• Fan switch (B) – to position 3 or 5.
• If necessary, turn the adjustment knob (C) to position or in any intermediate position between these symbols.
• Open the air inlet nozzles (4) and adjust the direction of air flow to the side window.

The fastest possible heating of the car's interior

• Turn the adjustment knob (A) all the way to the right.
• Fan switch (B) - to position 4-5.
• Set the air flow distribution adjustment knob (C) to position
• Turn on the air recirculation mode briefly. In this position, the car windows may fog up.
• Open the deflectors (4).

• Open the air inlet nozzles (4).
• If necessary, you can move the rotary control knob (C) to a different position.
• Warmer air is supplied to the footwell than to the upper body.

Air recirculation

In air recirculation mode, air is drawn in from the interior of the vehicle and returned back into it.

The air recirculation mode allows, if necessary, to prevent air from entering the interior of the car from outside, for example, when the concentration of harmful substances in it is increased when passing through a tunnel or in traffic jams.

Turning on air recirculation

• Press the alarm button the button lights up.

Turning off air recirculation

• Click the button again ; the indicator in the button goes out.

If the air flow distribution adjustment knob (C) is in the position , then air recirculation is automatically switched off. By pressing the button again you can turn air recirculation back on in this position.
