Removal and installation the parking lock cover (Skoda Octavia 5E)

The gearbox is installed. The selector lever is in the "P" position. Remove the engine casing. Remove the air filter. Remove the battery and battery bracket. Using the "MP8-602/1" door interior trim puller, disconnect the "A" selector cable from the gear shift lever.



Disconnect the selector cable "arrow" lock washer and leave the cable in the installation position.



Set the gear shift lever to position "P". To do this, press the lever with your hand until it stops in the direction of the cable support "see arrow".



Unscrew screw "3", remove gear shift lever "4". Unscrew screws "2", remove gear shift lever "1".

Installation

If the gearshift rod sealing ring or parking lock cover is not tight, replace the parking lock cover. Clean the sealing surface and the parking lock cover "1". Install the parking lock cover "1", screw in the screws "2" and tighten to 8 Nm. Install the gear selector lever "4", screw in new screws "3" and tighten to 15 Nm. Install in reverse order. Adjust the gear selector cable.
