To apply the parking brake, lift lever 1 all the way up. In this case, warning lamp 17 will light up red (see figure Instrument cluster) in the instrument cluster.
To release the brakes, pull lever 1 up slightly, press button 3 on the end of the lever handle and lower the lever all the way down. The indicator light should go out.
