Removal
1. Remove the front seat assembly (more details, see the relevant section in this chapter).
2. Remove the front seat buckle assembly (for more details, see the relevant section in Chapter Passive safety).
3. Remove the side cover of the front seat from the side of the central tunnel (more details, see the relevant section in this chapter).
4. Remove the side panel of the front seat trim from the door opening side.
5. Disconnect the seat cushion trim clips (1) from the seat cushion frame (2) as shown in the figure below.
6. Lift the seat cushion trim (2) around the entire perimeter of the seat, then remove the seat side cover assembly clips as shown in the figure below.
7. Remove the trim cover (2) from the seat cushion (3) as shown in the figure below.
8. Remove the front seat cushion (1) from the seat frame (2) as shown in the figure below.
Installation
1. Connect the cover (1) to the new retaining clips (2) at the indicated locations (3) as shown in the figure below, using the special tool (VAG 1634).
2. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
