Removal
1. Remove the front seat assembly (see the relevant section in Chapter Body).
2. Disconnect the seat back from the cushion.
3. Remove the seat back cover.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (5) from the side airbag module (4) as shown in the figure below.
5. Unscrew the mounting bolt (3) shown in the figure below. Tightening torque of the mounting bolt during installation: 9 Nm.
6. Disconnect the fastening clip (1) of the side airbag (4) from the seatback frame (2), as shown in the figure below.
7. Remove the side airbag module (4) from the seatback frame (2).
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Note: Make sure the wiring harness connector is securely connected. You should hear a click when connecting. Make sure the wiring harnesses are not twisted or excessively bent.
2. Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
