Note. The information contained in the memory is not erased when the ignition is turned off and when the wires are disconnected from the battery.
2. When replacing factory installed parts, use only original and high quality parts.
Do not use airbag parts taken from another vehicle. Replace only with new parts
3. Carefully check all SRS elements before installing them. If any of the components of the airbag system fall or if cracks, dents, or other defects appear on the module case, bracket, or wire connector, replace them with new ones.
4. Before removing any parts of the passive safety system, always disconnect the SRS connector.
5. Do not attempt to disassemble airbag modules as they do not have serviceable parts. Once deployed, an airbag cannot be repaired and reused.
When storing airbags, observe the following:
Store the removed airbag with the outer facing up.
Do not expose the airbag modules to water or other liquids, as this may damage them.
Keep the airbag module away from heat sources.
Do not perform airbag wiring tests such as resistance measurements.
During repairs, inspections or replacements, position yourself so that you are not in the area of the airbags.
Avoid possible impacts on the passive safety system module, as well as in the area of the location of the collision sensors, with the ignition on. Switch off the ignition and wait three minutes before doing any work on the SRS.
During work, be careful not to make an accidental impact (when using wrenches, a hammer and other tools) in the area where the SRS module and crash sensors are located, as this may cause the airbags to inadvertently deploy and cause injury or damage
After an accident in which the front airbags deployed, replace the airbags and the SRS control unit (SRS). After a collision with side airbags deployed, replace the side airbag, front and side impact sensors on the desired side, and the SRS control unit (SRS). After a collision with the front or side airbags not deploying. Check the SRS control unit for damage or deformation (SRS) and side impact sensors. If there is no damage, replace the SRS control unit (SRS), front and/or side impact sensor.
Do not disassemble the SRS control module, front and side crash sensors.
Switch off the ignition, disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait three minutes before starting installation or replacing the SRS control unit (SRS).
Check that there is no liquid or oil on the surface of the SRS control unit (SRS), front and side collision sensors, and clean them of dust.
Store the SRS control unit (SRS), front and side impact sensors at 15-25°C and 30-80% relative humidity.
Note. Some security systems have spring-loaded latches.
Replacing Security System Components After Airbag Deployment
When the front (their) pillows (ek) safety after a collision, replace the following components:
- Security Control Module
- Deployed airbags.
- Seat belt pretensioners.
- Front impact sensor.
- Security wiring harnesses.
If the seat belt pretensioner has been activated after a collision. replace the following components:
- Seat belt pretensioner.
- Security system management module.
- Front impact sensor.
- Security wiring harnesses.
If the side and curtain airbags are deployed, replace the following components:
- Security system management module.
- Deployed airbags.
- Side impact sensor on the actuation side.
- Security wiring harnesses.
After on a completely repaired vehicle, check that the airbag system is working. Turn the ignition on and the security indicator should turn on for six seconds and turn off.
