Attention. Do not change the original location of the electronic control unit for the passive safety system while the unit is connected to the network and the ignition is on. Otherwise, the airbag may inadvertently deploy, resulting in serious injury.
Attention. If the car has been involved in an accident, check the installation sites of the electronic control unit for the passive safety system and impact sensors for deformation. In case of damage or excessive deformation, it is necessary to replace the body modules with the mounting points for the electronic control unit for the security system and shock sensors.
Attention. To avoid spontaneous deployment of airbags, it is forbidden to use any memory devices. Failure to follow this instruction could result in serious injury or death.
Note. Electronic control units are very sensitive to static discharges. Try not to touch the terminals of the electronic control unit connector.
Note. When installing a new SRS control module, special firmware must be used.
Note. Repair of elements of the passive safety system is not provided. In case of failure, the damaged element is replaced as an assembly.
Attention. Before starting any work, turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative terminal from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
Removing
1. Remove the center console assembly (see the relevant section in chapter Body).
2. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
3. Unlock the harness connector lock (1) starting at the front passenger footwell.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the electronic control unit (1), as shown in the figure below.
5. Unscrew the fastening nuts (1) Airbag ECU as shown in the figure below. Mounting torque during installation: 9 Nm.
6. Remove the electronic airbag control unit (2) assembled as shown in the figure below.
Installation
1. Installation is made in reverse order to removal.
2. Turn on the ignition.
Attention. Make sure there are no people in the vehicle.
3. Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
4. If the electronic control unit has been replaced with a new one, it must be recoded.
