Note: Follow the instructions for replacing the brake pads. After replacing the brake pads, press the brake pedal firmly several times with the vehicle stationary until the brake pads are in their operating position. Use a brake fluid filling and bleeding device, such as -U4S 5234-, to pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir. Before removing the brake caliper or before disconnecting the brake line from the brake caliper, install a device for pressing the brake pedal, such as, "V.A.G 1869/2".

1. Protective shield
2. Torx head screw, 12 Nm
3. Brake disc: replace on both wheels of the axle; to remove, first unscrew the brake caliper screws
4. Bolt, 4.5 Nm
5. Brake shield: bolted to the wheel hub bearing housing
6. Brake pads: with wear indicator; with appropriate wear (minimum thickness of pads: 4 mm) a control lamp lights up in the instrument panel insert; replace on both axle wheels. Follow the instructions for replacing the pads
7. Brake caliper: Do not unscrew the brake line to replace the brake pads. Follow the instructions for replacing the pads
8. Bolt, 35 Nm: self-locking; replace after each removal
9. Bolt, 200 Nm: clean when re-used
10. Wheel hub bearing housing: with brake shield screwed on
11. Brake hose with ring nipple and hollow screw, 35 Nm
12. Brake line spring clamp
13. Holder
14. Bolt, 8 Nm
