Note.
- Necessary special devices, control and measuring devices, as well as auxiliary means:
- Filling and venting device e.g. (VAS 5234).
Note.
- When carrying out the following work, make sure that no brake fluid gets on the gearbox.
- The pre-charge of the system is not necessary!
- After disconnecting and then connecting the wire connecting the battery terminal to ground (corps) vehicle, some additional work needs to be done.
1. Remove the battery and battery holder (more. see the relevant section in chapter Engine electrical equipment).
2. Remove the air filter (see the relevant section in chapter Intake and exhaust system).
3. Attach a device for filling the hydraulic brake drive and for bleeding it.
Note. To bleed air, use a bleed hose.
4. Connect the bleed hose to the receiver of the hydraulic brake bleeder.
5. Pushing on the bleed hose (A) to the slave cylinder of the clutch release actuator (arrow), open the air valve as shown in the figure below.
6. Create a pressure of 0.2 MPa in the system (2 bar).
7. Leave for approx. 100 cm3 brake fluid until air bubbles stop appearing.
8. Close the air release valve.
9. Press the clutch pedal smoothly 10-15 times from stop to stop.
10. Open the air valve.
11. Create a pressure of 0.2 MPa in the system (2 bar).
12. Let it drain for approx. 100 cm3 brake fluid.
13. Close the air release valve.
14. After completing the bleeding process, press the clutch pedal several times.
15. Disconnect the filling and venting device.
16. If necessary, again remove the air from the clutch actuator.
17. Install the air filter (see the relevant section in chapter Intake and exhaust system).
18. Install the battery and battery holder (for details, see the relevant section in chapter Engine electrical equipment).
