Removal
Note.
- Necessary special devices, control and measuring instruments, as well as auxiliary means.
- Grease for clutch disc splines (G 000 100).
Note: After disconnecting and then reconnecting the wire connecting the battery terminal to the vehicle ground (body), some additional work must be performed.
1. Remove the upper decorative engine cover.
2. Remove the battery and battery holder (for more details, see the relevant section in the chapter Engine electrical equipment).
3. Remove the air filter (for more details, see the relevant section in the chapter Intake and exhaust system).
4. Remove the shift cable retaining ring (arrow 1) from the shift lever (A) as shown in the figure below.

5. Remove the gear shift cable from the journal.
6. Remove the preselector guide lever together with the flexible shaft locking device (bowden cables).

7. Remove the gear shift lever (A) by unscrewing the mounting nut (arrow 4), as shown in the figure below.
8. Remove the flexible roller counter support (bowden cables) from the gearbox (screws 1), as shown in the figure below.
9. Tie the gear shift cable and the cable for the selective shift control device to the top.

10. Place a non-shedding rag under the clutch release drive slave cylinder.
11. Remove the clamp (2) of the pipe and hose line from the clutch release drive slave cylinder until it stops, as shown in the figure below.
12.Then remove the pipe and hose line (3), shown in the figure below, from the clutch release drive slave cylinder and plug the holes.
13. Remove the pipe and hose line (3) from the holder (4), if present, on the gearbox.
14. After unscrewing the screws (5) of the clutch release drive slave cylinder, remove the clutch release drive slave cylinder as shown in the figure below.

Note: Do not depress the clutch pedal.
Installation
1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, and the following instructions must be observed:
Lubricate the end of the rod with clutch disc spline grease (G 000 100).
Note: Replace damaged O-rings.
Screw the clutch booster slave cylinder to the gearbox using screws (5), as shown in the figure below.
Insert the pipe and hose line (3) into the clutch release drive slave cylinder until it stops.
Press the bracket (2) shown in the figure below until it stops.
Press the pipe and hose line into the holder (4), if present, on the gearbox.
After installing the clutch release drive slave cylinder, bleed air from the clutch control drive.
Install flexible roller counter support (bowden cables), preselector lever and gear shift lever.
Adjust the gear shift drive if necessary.
Install the air filter (for more details, see the relevant section in the chapter Intake and exhaust system).
Install the battery and battery holder (for more details, see the relevant section in Chapter Engine electrical equipment).
Connect the wire connecting the battery terminal to the ground (body) of the vehicle.
