1. The DSG transmission uses two circuits of working fluids: one for the mechanics part, and the other for the dual clutch control unit. Checking and replacing the DSG working fluids is not required throughout its entire service life.

2. If a leak is detected, drain the remaining working fluid by unscrewing the plug (see accompanying illustration), fix the leak and tighten the plug to 30 Nm.

3. Set the selector lever to position "P". Remove the air cleaner (see Chapter 4), the battery and its tray (see Chapter 5), because they block access to the filling hole.

4. Using the MP8-602/1 tool, separate the selector cable from the DSG (And in illustration 4.4).

5. Remove the lock washer from the selector cable in the direction of the arrow (see illustration 4.5), - the cable must remain in the installation position.

Note: Do not reuse the lock washer. Do not bend the selector cable or squeeze it backwards from the support - the cable is removed from the holder when the selector mechanism is removed.

6. Set the selector lever on the DSG to the "P" position by moving it all the way towards the cable holder, as shown in the accompanying illustration.

7. Remember the installation position of the lever and remove it from the selector shaft, then remove the cover (see accompanying illustration). The leaking cap should be replaced.

8. Pour exactly 1.7 liters of DSG transmission oil (G 052 171) through the resulting opening.

9. Before installing the cover, lubricate the seal with G052 128A1 grease. Install the cover and lever, using a new bolt to secure the lever. Tighten the cover mounting bolts to 8 Nm and the lever bolt to 15 Nm.

10. Connect the selector cable to the selector lever and secure the cable in the holder with a new clamp.

11. Install the battery with its tray.

12. Check and, if necessary, adjust the selector cable (see Section 7).

13. Install the air cleaner.
