Receiver cover with liquid level indicator
A - top mark; B - bottom mark
Attention! Check the fluid level in the power steering hydraulic system reservoir when the engine is cold.
Attention! Do not reuse fluid from the system: it is contaminated, saturated with air and moisture.
Attention! Use only fluids recommended by the manufacturer.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «-» battery. Parts of car battery holder (bigger size) closes the receiver cover. In this case, remove the battery and its holder (see subsection 10.2).
2. Remove the air filter if necessary (see subsection 4.1).
3. Unscrew cover 9 (see fig. Elements of the hydraulic power steering) receiver and wipe the liquid level indicator mounted on the plug with a clean cloth (see fig. Receiver cover with liquid level indicator).
4. Screw the cover on until it stops and unscrew it again. The fluid level must be between the top A and bottom B marks on the gauge.
Attention! Do not use the MIN and MAX marks on the receiver to control the liquid level.
5. If the fluid level is below mark B, add working fluid to the receiver, after checking the tightness of the hydraulic system.
6. If the liquid level exceeds mark A, the excess liquid must be removed. Please note that when the engine is hot (engine coolant temperature above 50°C) The power steering hydraulic fluid level is above mark A.
