Mats should be brushed or vacuumed regularly to prevent gravel and sand from accumulating. If the mats are very dirty, remove them, clean or sponge them, and reinstall them after making sure they are dry.
The seats and interior trim panels can be kept clean by wiping them with a damp cloth. If the covers become too dirty, use a small amount of liquid detergent and a soft brush to clean them.
When using liquid detergents in the car interior, do not over-wet the surfaces being cleaned. Excessive moisture can penetrate the seams and cause stains, unpleasant odors, or even rotting of the fabric. If the interior of the car accidentally becomes wet, be sure to dry it properly, especially if it is the carpets. Do not use oil or electric heaters inside the car for this purpose.
