Oil specification

The motor oil to be used must meet the specifications exactly.

Selecting the correct motor oil is essential for engine performance and life. At the factory the engine was filled with a special (as a rule, all-season) with oil.

We recommend having your oil changed at a Skoda service centre.

Checking and adjusting the engine oil level to the correct level

The oil level should be in zone A.

The oil level should be in zone A.

Preparation

  • Park your vehicle on a level surface to avoid incorrect engine oil level readings.
  • Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain into the oil pan. If the engine is cold, you can start checking the oil level (and topping up oil if necessary) immediately.
  • Open the hood.
  • The oil filler neck can be identified by the symbol on the cap, and the dipstick by the colored handle.

Checking the engine oil level

  • Remove the dipstick from the guide tube and wipe it with a clean rag.
  • Insert the dipstick again until it stops in the guide tube. If there is a mark on the dipstick, it should be aligned with the notch at the top end of the guide tube.
