Ground connection for fuel filler neck
1. Connect the ground wire as shown in the figure below.
2. Check and ensure that the wiring harness connector is properly installed.
Connector (2) for ground connection on the threaded ring (3) of the fuel filler neck.
3. Unlock the contact clamp (1) of the ground wire in the fuel tank recess (4), then press on the intermediate sleeve (5), as shown in the figure below.
Attention:
- There is a high risk of fire from electrostatic discharge.
- After installation, use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance on the fuel filler neck pressure ring. There should be no resistance.
Mounting position of the fuel pump module
The mark (2) on the flange of the fuel pump module (1) must be located opposite the mark (3) on the fuel tank, as shown in the figure below.
Draining water and/or fuel from the fuel filter
Note:
- Make sure that when draining fuel from the fuel filter, it does not come into contact with the water hoses of the cooling system. If necessary, wipe the water hoses dry.
- The drain valve is not installed on all engine models.
1. Connect a hose of suitable length to the drain valve, lowering the other end into the fuel collection container (1), as shown in the figure below.
2. Start the engine.
3. Carefully unscrew the drain valve (1) a quarter of a turn.
4. Drain approximately 0.3 - 0.4 l of liquid. Tighten back the drain valve (1) shown in the figure below.
5. Turn off the engine and disconnect the hose from the drain valve.
