Note: The engine must be cold.


1. Open the expansion tank cap to relieve excess pressure in the cooling system, then close the cap, screwing it on until you hear a distinctive click.

2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the coolant temperature sensor.

Note: Place a rag under the sensor to collect any leaking coolant.


3. Unscrew the mounting screw (1) and remove the coolant temperature sensor (2), as shown in the figure below.

Note:
  • If the sealing ring (3) together with the support ring (4) remain in the cylinder head after removing the temperature sensor, they must be removed using a suitable length of wire.
  • Install a new coolant temperature sensor to prevent coolant loss.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note:
  • Always replace the sealing rings after disassembly.
  • Tighten the coolant temperature sensor mounting screw to a tightening torque of 6 N·m.
