Removal
1. Open and remove the coolant expansion tank cap as shown in the figure below.

Caution: When the engine has reached normal operating temperature, the coolant in the cooling system is under pressure, so there is a high risk of burns if the expansion tank cap is opened carelessly. Therefore, before opening the cap, you need to place a clean rag on it, and then unscrew it slowly, thereby reducing excess pressure in the system.
2. Remove the soundproofing coating.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) shown in the figure below.
4. Place a tray under the engine to collect any leaking coolant. Use the bathtub from the mobile garage crane (VAS 6208).
5. Loosen the fastening clamps (3) and disconnect the cooling system water hoses as shown in the figure below.

6. Unscrew the fastening screw (2) shown in the figure below, then remove the coolant recirculation water pump.

Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
1. Install sound insulation.
2. Check the coolant level in the cooling system.
3. Tighten the coolant recirculation water pump mounting screw to a tightening torque of 8 N·m.
