Brief description

First, the oil temperature value is read. If it exceeds 50°C, the gearbox needs to be allowed to cool down.

with the engine not running, unscrew the overflow tube and let the oil drain. Then screw the overflow tube back in and fill the gearbox with excess oil.

Start the engine and allow excess oil to drain until the level reaches the overflow tube.

Note: Special tools, measuring instruments and auxiliary equipment required.

  • Device for pumping and collecting waste oil "VAG 1782".
  • Oil filling adapter "VAS6262A".
  • Tester

Note

Conditions:
  • The engine is off
  • The car is positioned horizontally, all lift supports are located at the same height.
  • The soundproofing casing has been removed (if available)
  • The selector lever is in position "P"
  • The tester is connected.
  • At the start of work, the oil temperature should not exceed 45°C.

1. When working with the gearbox, observe the rules for maintaining cleanliness.

2. Only oil designed for DSG transmissions may be used. Using other oils may result in transmission malfunction or even failure.

Caution: Risk of burns from hot oil!

3. Turn on the tester and identify the vehicle in the "Guided Functions" mode.

4. Select DSG gearbox.

5. Select "Check oil level".

Note: If the oil temperature exceeds 45°C, wait until the gearbox cools down.

Caution: If there is no oil in the gearbox, do not start the engine.

6. Do not start the engine!

7. Install a device for pumping and collecting used oil "VAG 1782" under the gearbox.

9. Remove the "arrow" tube and let the oil drain.

About 5 liters of oil leaks out. 10. Screw the overflow tube back in until it stops and tighten it to a torque of 3 Nm.

11. Before screwing the VAS 6262A oil filling adapter onto the filling tank, measure the length of the ventilation tube, dimension "a", and shorten it if necessary.

Size "a" = 210 mm

Note: Dimension "a" is measured from the end of the tube (marked in green in the close-up) adapter for filling oil "VAS 6262A".

16. Tighten the drain plug (A) only by hand.

17. Start the engine.

18. Press the brake pedal and engage all selector positions in turn, holding the lever in each position for approximately 3 seconds. Then return the lever to position "P".
