External door protective trim
1 – protective foil of the adhesive surface; 2 – front door protective trim; 3 – rear door protective trim; 4 – outer sheet of the front door; 5 – outer sheet of the rear door; 6 – adhesive surface
The trim is made of EPDM polypropylene with the addition of 10% talc. The protective trims have a plane with which they are glued to the doors. There is a self-adhesive layer on it. The surface of the joint on the doors must be thoroughly cleaned with technical gasoline or some other degreasing agent before gluing. First, remove the foil from the trim and then (after heating to 30°C) press it to the door varnish. The placement of the trim coincides with the longitudinal recess on the outer sheet of the door. The recess is covered by the trim. The surface of the trims is smooth, the color is only black. The end of the front door trims is semicircular in front, and even at the middle pillar. The rear trims at the middle pillars also have even ends according to the edge of the door; on the back side the ends are chamfered in accordance with the edge of the door, but the transitions have a radius.
Due to the fact that the shape of the pads in section is not symmetrical, the protective pads differ not only for the front and rear doors, but also for the right and left.
