Note: To simplify the assembly process in production plants, the lower part of the toothed belt guard is provided with a guide that grips the crankshaft cover. To remove the lower part of the toothed belt guard with the engine mount bracket installed, this toothed belt guard guide must be broken. Pay attention to various vehicle modifications!
Remove crankshaft pulley for V-ribbed belt.
Attention! Risk of damage to the engine if the toothed belt is damaged. Carry out the next operation very carefully!
In the toothed belt housing of the discontinued series, make a hole of the following dimensions: dimension -a- = 10 mm, diameter = 8 mm. Insert a screwdriver into the hole and break out the guide lug of the toothed belt guard towards the rear.
On a new timing belt guard, insert a screwdriver into the guide slot. By turning the screwdriver in the -direction of the arrow-, break out the guide tab.
Remove screws -arrows-. Unhook bottom section of toothed belt guard -1- towards top and remove.
Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Note: If a new toothed belt guard is to be fitted, the guide lug -arrow- must be removed prior to installation.
Install toothed belt guard, paying attention to position of dowel pin -arrow-.
