Caution! Risk of damage to valves and pistons when the timing belt jumps. Rotate the crankshaft only in the direction of engine rotation.
Rotate the crankshaft by the toothed pulley mounting bolt and set the camshaft to the "TDC" position using a toothed belt. Lock the camshaft hub using the "3359" diesel fuel injection pump retainer, for which insert the retainer into the "2" camshaft drive fork and the "1" hole in the cylinder head located behind it.

Loosen the locking screw "1" in the camshaft toothed pulley by half a turn, but do not unscrew it completely. Ignore "Position 2".

Secure the toothed pulley of the crankshaft with the crankshaft lock "T10490". The pins of the crankshaft lock "T10490" must enter the threaded holes of the toothed pulley. The lock of the crankshaft lock "T10490" must enter the hole of the crankshaft cover.
Warning! Risk of engine damage! When unscrewing the camshaft toothed pulley bolt, never use the diesel fuel injection pump retainer "3359" as a stop.
Remove the retainer and partially loosen the camshaft toothed pulley mounting bolts. Before completely unscrewing the bolts, reinsert the retainer.

Loosen the bolt "arrow" securing the camshaft toothed pulley, using the "T10172" stop with the "T10172/11" adapters.

Lock the fuel injection pump hub using the "T10492" lock, for which insert the lock into the fork of the "2" hub link and the hole "1" located behind it in the bracket of the mounted units. Remove the lock and partially loosen the fastening nuts of the fuel injection pump toothed pulley. Before completely unscrewing the bolts, insert the lock back.

Loosen the "arrow" nut of the fuel injection pump toothed pulley by approximately 90°, using the "T10051" stop.

Loosen the nut "1" of the tension roller. Turn the eccentric of the tension roller with the angle screwdriver "T10264" counterclockwise "arrow" until the tension roller can be fixed with the lock "T10265".

Turn the eccentric of the tensioning roller with the angle screwdriver "T10264" clockwise "arrow" until it stops and tighten the nut "1" by hand.
Caution. Changing the direction of a previously used toothed belt may result in its destruction. Before removing the toothed belt, mark the direction of the belt for reinstallation with chalk or a felt-tip pen.
