General description
KESSY system (Keyless Entry, Start and exit SYstem - system of access and permission to start the engine without a key) allows you to unlock and lock the car, as well as start and stop the engine without a key. It is enough to have the key with you. The lock with electronic steering lock control unit -J764- is part of the system and replaces the mechanical steering column lock. Padlock with electronic steering lock control unit -J764- generates commands for switching contact S on/off to switch the ignition on/off (pin 15) and engine start/stop. These commands are converted by the onboard supply control unit -J519- into signals for other vehicle components. In the event of a complaint, it is necessary to know the operation and operation of the KESSY system.
General installation scheme of the KESSY system components
1. Antenna under the rear bumper
2. Antenna behind left luggage compartment side trim
3. Antenna and sensors in the outside door handle on the driver's side: cannot be replaced separately; in case of malfunction, replace the door handle assembly
4. Lock with electronic steering lock control unit -J764-
5. Control unit, entry and start authorization systems -J518- behind the glove box/passenger's side
6. START/STOP button
7. Reader coil anti-theft system for emergency start
8. Antenna under the center console
9. Antenna and sensors in the outside handle of the front passenger door: cannot be replaced separately; in case of malfunction, replace the outer door handle assembly
10. Antenna behind the right side trim of the luggage compartment
Other nodes with which the KESSY system communicates via the CAN bus:
- Onboard supply control unit -J519-,
- Diagnostic interface for data bus gateway -J533-,
- instrument cluster,
- Automatic gearbox selector lever (vehicles with automatic transmission),
- engine control unit,
- ABS/ESP control unit.
Access and start system control unit -J518-
The control unit is located on vehicles with left and right steering wheels on the support of the heater and air conditioner module on the driver's side.
Remove instrument cluster. Press retaining lug -arrow A- and remove control unit -1- from bracket -2- -arrows B-. Unlock clip by folding it out and unplug connector -3-.
Installation
Installation in reverse order. When replacing the control unit, code the new control unit using the Tester. The tester must be connected online. Check the functioning of the system as a whole.
