Warning! Before servicing components of on-board electrical systems, read the safety requirements for working with electrical devices. See also the warnings provided in Part Charging and starting systems Chapters Electrical equipment of the engine.
The vehicle is equipped with a 12-volt on-board power supply system with negative grounding. Power is supplied to lighting fixtures and other consumers from a lead-acid battery, which is recharged by an alternator.
This Chapter describes the repair and maintenance procedures for electrical components installed on the vehicle that are not directly related to engine operation.
Before servicing on-board electrical components, to avoid electrical shock or fire from an accidental short circuit, disconnect the negative battery cable. Regularly inspect the condition of the wiring harnesses and the reliability of their fastening in intermediate clamps, clamps and strapping. Make sure that the insulation of the wires does not rub off when in contact with components located next to the harness.
Warning! On models equipped with an anti-theft system, before disconnecting the battery, it is necessary to turn off the alarm. Do not forget to turn on the system after connecting the battery.
