To turn on the high beam headlights, press the high beam switch lever.
Turn off all lights
Turn the light switch to position "0".
The low beam headlights only light when the ignition is on. After the ignition is turned off, the low beam headlights turn off automatically, but the parking lights remain on. In right-hand drive vehicles, the location of the switches is slightly different from that described. However, the symbols indicating the individual switch positions are identical.
Some countries have a feature where, when the ignition is on, the low beam headlights also light up at reduced brightness along with the parking lights.
Caution: Never drive with only your parking lights on (danger of an incident)! Parking lights do not provide sufficient illumination of the road ahead and visibility for other road users. In the dark and when visibility is poor, always turn on your low beam headlights.
Note:
- If you remove the key from the ignition and open the driver's door while the vehicle's lights are on, an audible alarm will sound.
- After closing the driver's door (ignition off) the sound signal for the lights being on does not work, which allows you to park the car with the parking lights on.
- When parking your vehicle for a long time, we recommend turning off all lights or leaving only the parking lights on.
- When using the specified headlights and lamps, the relevant provisions of the law must be observed.
- If the light switch fails, the low beam headlights will turn on automatically.
- In cold or damp weather, the headlights may temporarily fog up on the inside. The temperature difference between the inside and front of the headlight has a decisive influence on fogging. The fogging disappears shortly after the headlights are turned on. Sometimes it can also be observed at the edges of the headlights. Fogging may also occur on the reversing lights and turn signals. Fogging of headlights does not affect their service life.

When turning the regulator (B) from position "—" to position 3, the headlight corrector gradually adapts, reducing the length of the headlight beams. The headlight range control positions roughly correspond to the following loading options:
- The front seats of the car are occupied, the trunk is empty.
1. All the car seats are occupied, the trunk is empty.
2. All the car seats are occupied, the trunk is loaded.
3. The driver's seat is occupied, the trunk is loaded.
Caution: The headlights must always be adjusted to meet the following requirements:
- the car's headlights do not blind drivers of other vehicles, especially oncoming traffic;
- the lighting range is sufficient for safe driving.
Note:
- It is recommended to adjust the position of the headlights when the low beam is on.
- After turning on the ignition and while driving, the bi-xenon headlights automatically adjust to the load level and driving mode of the vehicle. Vehicles with bi-xenon headlights are not equipped with a manual headlight range control.
Fog lights

When the lighting is switched on automatically, the parking lights, low beams and license plate light are turned on simultaneously.
When automatic control is on, the lighting is regulated by a light sensor located in the rearview mirror bracket. When the light level drops below a set value, for example when entering a tunnel during the day, the parking lights and low beams, as well as the license plate light, are automatically switched on. When the light level increases, the lighting automatically turns off.
Lighting in the rain
If the windshield wipers are activated for more than ten seconds by a signal from the rain sensor or for more than 15 seconds in continuous operation mode (position 2 or 3), then the parking lights and low beams are automatically turned on. The lighting switches off if the windscreen wipers are not activated by a signal from the rain sensor or in continuous operation mode for more than four minutes.
Note: Do not place stickers in front of the light sensor to avoid interfering with its operation.
Adaptive lighting
The adaptive lighting system AFS works in conjunction with the automatic light control function AUTO, so you should also read the following information.
The AFS system provides the driver with road illumination depending on traffic and weather conditions.
The system adapts the shape of the light cone of the headlights in front of the vehicle depending on the vehicle speed, the operation of the windscreen wipers, fog lights, and data from the Infotainment navigation system. The AFS system only operates when the light switch is in the position AUTO.
The AFS system operates in the following modes.
Countryside mode
The shape of the light cone of the headlights in front of the car is close to the shape of the low beam cone. This mode is activated if the following modes are not activated.
City mode
The light cone in front of the vehicle is adapted to include adjacent sidewalks, intersections, pedestrian crossings, etc. This mode is active at speeds of 15–50 km/h.
Highway mode
The light cone of the headlights in front of the vehicle is adapted in such a way that the driver can react in a timely manner to an obstacle or other danger. The mode is active at speeds above 110 km/h.
Rain mode
The light cone of the headlights in front of the car is adapted in such a way that during rain the degree of blinding of oncoming drivers is reduced.
This mode is activated at a speed of 50–90 km/h if the windshield wipers have been operating continuously for more than two minutes. The mode is disabled when the windshield wipers are not used for more than eight minutes.
"Fog" mode
The light cone of the headlights in front of the vehicle is adapted in such a way that the driver is not blinded by the light of the headlights reflecting off the fog. This mode is activated at speeds of 15–70 km/h if the rear fog light is on for more than ten seconds. The mode is disabled when the rear fog light is off for more than five seconds.
Dynamic adaptive lighting
The light cone of the headlights in front of the vehicle is adapted in such a way that the roadway in the area of the turn is illuminated. This function is active at speeds above 10 km/h and in all AFS system modes.
Tourist lighting mode
This mode allows you to travel around the country in the opposite direction of travel (right-hand or left-hand), without blinding oncoming drivers. When the touring light mode is turned on, the above modes and the side turning function of the headlights are disabled.
The tourist lighting mode can be set in the Infotainment system.
Attention. In the event of a malfunction of the AFS adaptive lighting system, the headlights are automatically set to the emergency position, which prevents blinding drivers of oncoming vehicles. As a result, the range of the light cone of the headlights in front of the car is reduced. Therefore, proceed with caution and contact a service center immediately.
Note: When the "Eco" driving mode is selected, the AFS system is disabled.
