Removal and installation
Removal
1. Remove the upper decorative engine cover assembly.
Caution: Before performing the tasks described below, wear protective gloves and goggles.
2. Using a special solvent to remove lubricants, clean the surface around the fuel pressure sensor (prevent contamination from entering the hole for installing the fuel pressure sensor).
Note: Prevent solvent from getting inside the fuel rail after removing the fuel pressure sensor.
3. Dry the fuel pressure sensor.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (2) shown in the figure below.
5. Unscrew the fuel pressure sensor from the fuel rail using a 27 mm head (T40218).

6. Remove any dirt around the hole for installing the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail (contact surface and threaded part). Do not use mechanical tools to remove dirt.
Note: Seal the hole in the fuel rail where the fuel pressure sensor will be installed using a suitable plug.
Installation
Note:
- Be extremely careful not to damage the sealing surface and threaded portion on the fuel pressure sensor. This is possible by reusing the fuel pressure sensor.
- It is necessary to check the technical condition of the sealing surface in the fuel rail before installing the fuel pressure sensor.
- Before installation, apply diesel fuel to the threaded portion of the fuel pressure sensor.
1. Tighten the fuel pressure sensor by hand.
2. Tighten the fuel pressure sensor to the specified torque.
3. Fill the fuel system with diesel fuel and bleed air from the system.
