Removal and installation
Removal
1. Remove the upper decorative engine cover assembly.
2. Release the fuel return line hose (1) shown in the figure below.
3. Open the fastening clamps (arrows), disconnect and remove the wiring harness channel (2), as shown in the figure below.

4. Before removing, clean the surface around the threaded connection of the fuel regulator valve. Prevent contamination from entering the hole for installing the fuel regulator valve. Be extremely careful not to allow cleaning agents to enter the hole where the fuel pressure regulator valve is installed.
5. Dry the regulator valve after cleaning.
6. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (2) shown in the figure below.
7. Loosen the connecting nuts (1), while doing this, hold the fuel rail by the Allen key. Then unscrew it completely by hand.

8. Remove any dirt from around the hole and from the threaded part in the fuel rail where the fuel pressure regulator valve is installed. Do not use mechanical means to remove dirt.
9. Seal the outlet of the fuel rail with a special plug.
Installation
Note:
- The fuel pressure regulator valve must always be replaced after removal.
- Before assembly, apply diesel fuel to the threaded part of the fuel rail and to the threaded part of the regulator valve.
1. Tighten the union nut by hand.
2. Install the fuel pressure regulator valve so that the wiring harness does not bend or twist after installation.
3. Secure the fuel rail assembly against rotation using the hex key on the housing, using a suitable wrench.
4. The connecting nuts must be tightened with a suitable torque wrench.
5. Perform operations to remove air from the diesel engine fuel system.
