Removal and installation
Removal
Caution: There is a high risk of burns due to the fuel system being under high pressure. Before performing any operations, it is necessary to relieve excess fuel pressure in the system.
1. Remove the intake manifold assembly (for more details, see the relevant section in the chapter "Intake and exhaust system").
2. Disconnect the high pressure fuel lines.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) shown in the figure below.
Note: Wrap the connection point of the tube with a clean rag to collect any leaking fuel.
4. Unscrew the mounting bolts (arrows) and disconnect the fuel distributor from the fuel injectors as an assembly, as shown in the figure below.

2. Press the fuel rail first on the right side to the injectors, and then on the left side, until it stops and is fixed on the injectors.
3. Press the fuel rail assembly evenly downwards and tighten each of the mounting bolts two turns.
4. Tighten all fuel rail mounting bolts crosswise in two passes. Tightening torque of mounting bolts: 9 Nm.
5. Connect the high-pressure fuel lines to the fuel rail.
6. Install the intake manifold assembly (for more details, see the relevant section in the chapter "Intake and exhaust system").
