Removal a radial ball bearing



1. Remove the retaining ring from the drive shaft.

2. Install the clamping device (MP3-453 (VW431)) and the clamping plate (MP3-467 (40-105)) on the drive shaft, as shown in the figure below.

3. Install the puller (B) into the perimeter groove for the retaining ring in the bearing.

The snap ring groove must point upwards (arrow A) and the shoulder (arrow B) must point towards the 5th gear.

Note: Install the mandrel so as not to damage the seal (arrow C) of the bearing.

  • Determine the thickness of the retaining ring and install it.

  • Install the 1.86 mm thick snap ring (A) into the groove of the drive shaft and press it upward.
  • Using a feeler gauge (C), measure the distance between the radial ball bearing (B) and the installed snap ring (A).
  • Remove the retaining ring that was needed for the measurement.
  • Determine the retaining ring according to the table.
