Installation of gas-filled struts for the luggage compartment lid

In the open (raised) position, the luggage compartment lid is held by two gas-filled telescopic supports. The holding force of the open lid is from 50 to 100 N, the force required to lift them does not exceed 80 N. The supports are connected to the body and the lid via spherical journals. The rods of the spherical journals are riveted in the corners, one screwed to the lid, and the other to the body. Gas-filled supports cannot be disassembled and repaired.
The gas-filled support can be removed from the car without disassembling the spherical journals. In the heads for the spherical journals, it, that is, the support, has cutouts for putting on the journals. The cutouts are covered with a figured spring made of strip steel. The spring holds the spherical journal in the head. This spring can be pressed with a screwdriver, moved and the head of the support can be removed from the journals.
